The short version

Your recording is not uploaded. It is not stored on a server, and there is no server that could store it. The file you select is read and converted by your own browser, on your own device.

What happens to the file you choose

When you pick a file, your browser reads it from your device. A media decoder and a note-estimation model — both downloaded to your browser as ordinary web files — run locally and produce the MIDI data. The MIDI you download is created on your machine and saved straight to your device.

Midilace has no upload endpoint and no backend that receives audio. Nothing about the file's contents is transmitted to Midilace or to any third party. If you close the tab, the file and the generated MIDI are gone; Midilace keeps no copy and cannot recover them for you.

What is collected

This site does not ask you to create an account, does not set its own cookies, does not run analytics or tracking scripts, and does not build a profile of you.

Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider. That provider — Cloudflare — processes the technical request data needed to serve and protect the site, such as your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the pages requested. This is ordinary web-server logging and is outside Midilace's control. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for how that data is handled.

Advertising

Third-party advertising may be added to this site in the future as a way to cover hosting costs. No advertising is present right now. If advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated to name the providers involved and to describe what they collect before any of it goes live, and a consent notice will be shown where the law requires one.

Your file's contents

Because your audio never leaves your device, Midilace never sees it, never analyses it, and never shares it. There is nothing for Midilace to delete on your behalf, and no data request to make about a file you converted.

Children

This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If how this site handles data changes — for example when advertising is introduced — this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. The current version is always the one published at this address.
